NCC TO SUSPEND INCREASED DATA PLAN ON SENATE COMMAND

As Nigerians thought of enjoying their last day of cheap data on November 30, 2016, following directives of NCC, same day, Senate called on NCC to halt data plan increase Nigerians are now sure of enjoying more days of cheap data.
This was revealed by Channels television that National assembly ordered its telecommunication committee to meet with the internet serve providers.
Hence, all parties involved (ISP's, NCC and Senate) will meet and agree terms before there could be an increase in data price.
Sources from Channelstv also identified the proposed increase was fuel by new entrants to eliminate oligopolistic economies of scale enjoyed by the big market players.
This means if the parties eventually agree on increased data price, government is doing some kind of interventionism which may be detrimental to price level as prices will shoot up.
Nothing more can be done than to wait for the parties final decision. And at least for now students and other low income earners can boast of enjoyment of cheap data for some more time.
