-Bankole Oluwatomiwa

A student journalist, former SUG PRO and currently a Presidential aspirant of the Olabisi Onabanjo University students' union government, Dotun Adebusoye has asked the university management to spare a week out of its academic calendar to observe a compulsory one week fasting and prayer.

Adebusoye in a statement made available to campus reporters on Tuesday May 30, 2017 said that only prayers could put a stop to various unpleasant happenings that have greeted the university in recent times, especially untimely death.
He therefore called on all church dominations to come together and offer supplications to God. " I want to call on all church denominations to annex in faith and offer prayers to God" he said. Through this, the land of Olabisi Onabanjo University will be healed and a stop put to untimely death.

Speaking further, he opined that other religious bodies should be considered, noting that the peacefulness of the university is a collective responsibility which must be taken seriously. He added that staff of the university should join in the fasting and prayer.
He said" let everyone get involved, all religious bodies and staff".
