It has come to my knowledge that students who reside within the circumference of Ago-iwoye suffer immensely from insufficient power supply.
It is imperative and of course pertinent that students depend on power supply for diverse reasons.
Firstly, the issue of looking decent and properly dressed, without proper ironing of one's clothes, one will never be able to look respectable.
Thus, the saying "dress how you want to be addressed". its never accomplished.
Another problem that has affected students around the area of discuss, is the issue of blackout during the reasonable hours of reading.
Students who do not have enough resource to afford generators or rechargeable lamps spend as much as 200 naira daily in buying candles just to read. It is appalling, saddening and preposterous.
For sure, we all have taken cognizance to the fact that we are now in an "electronic world" where most of our assignments, researches and reading are done via the help of electronic gadgets which from the name one should deduce that it works with the aid of electricity.
Hence, without adequate and reasonable power supply, how do students use such gadgets to meet up with the demands of civilization and the educational system?.
My point is that the student Union Government (SUG) should intervene in this matter, meet with the bodies in charge of the distribution of this power and proffer solution to this grievous problem and ensure that the proffered solution lasts. Thank you.
