WAS IT CALLED A LUST DAY OR A LOVE DAY?
From Oluwasegun Victor
February 14 was a day named after saint valentine Who was beheaded by Emperor claudius II for helping Christian couples wed.
The emperor Who reigned during That time banned marriage he thought men are made to become better soldiers. Saint valentine felt it unfair because men commit fornication, ladies turned them selves to opened prostitute.
So he decided to celebrate marriage in secret. When the emperor found out he was thrown in jail and sentenced to death this saint died at AD270.
The festival survived the initial rise of Christianity but was outlawed at the end of the 5th century when Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St Valentine's Day.
But still a lot of people mess up February 14 and still go back to what a saint was trying to stop i.e prostitution, fornication, e.t.c men take the day as an advantage and mess up a lady life
and lady also take the day as an advantage to mess themselves up lady get raped due to the way they dress.
Saint valentine called it a day of Love. And this include showing of love and not a day of sex and Lust. Let's try to understand the purpose of the sacrifice Saint Valentine did just to make a man and a lady be with each other in love Not Lust and not a man as a soldier.
Many don't know What and who is saint valentine but you will hear them shout Feb 14 will be bad! Bad for what?
