Algeria and Leicester city midfielder, Riyad Mahrez has emerged winner of the 2016 Africa footballer of the year beating off competition from last ywat winner,Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Senegal attacker Sadio Mane.
The 25th edition of the award which was hosted in Nigeria capital city of Abuja saw super falcons striker Asisat Oshoala swop the women player of the year award.
Uganda and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Dennis Onyango won the player of the year based in Africa.
Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi won the youth player of the year while Kelechi Iheanacho won the most promising talent award.
Nollyhood actor Richard Mofe Damijo and sports analysis Mimi Fawaz were the emcees of the award that saw live musical performance from some of Africa finest artistes
